Hulu has dropped the second teaser trailer for 11.22.63, their new 8-part drama series based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. James Franco stars as High School history teacher Jake Epping, who travels back in time in an attempt to stop the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The success of his attempt to tinker with time comes under threat from Lee Harvey Oswald, falling in love, and the past – which doesn’t always want to be altered.
As is the case with a lot of King’s literary works, the 11.22.63 book was very well received upon publication, and has a strong legion of fans who will be eager to see this adaptation. Couple this with the fact that Abrams’ name is attached, and this series could well be quite the blockbuster for Hulu. In fact, it’s already their most high-profile original series so far and no doubt the channel will be looking to emulate the success of fellow streaming channel Netflix, which has seen several large scale hits on its hands (see Daredevil and Jessica Jones) and/or critically-acclaimed original series alike (see Master of None), in 2015 alone.
