Twin Peaks is coming back with new episodes! In a reveal that Twin Peaks fans are suitably amazed is actually happening (I certainly know I am), the acclaimed series will return on Showtime.
Variety confirmed the news, revealing Twin Peaks will return with a nine-episode season in 2016. Showtime also released this teaser video.
Showtime have now put out their official press release for Twin Peaks' return, stating "Twin Peaks will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers for the series’ passionate fan base." Showtime confirms Lynch and Frost will write and produce all nine episodes together with Lynch directing all the episodes.
Frost also spoke to TVLine about the show returning. He was coy on the storyline, but when it came to casting, said, "Those who want to see old faces, and those would like to see new faces, none of them will be disappointed. It’s far too early to talk specifics about people. We’re not at that stage in the process."
Showtime describes Twin Peaks as a "limited series," indicating they don't see it as a beginning of an ongoing show. Asked if there could be more beyond these nine episodes, Frost tells TVLine, "We’ve learned never to say never. Anything is a possibility."
Esta serie fue épica, muy muy buena noticia.
