| [visual novel] Umineko no Naku Koro ni  Bueno para empezar una pequeña explicación de lo que es una visual novel Definicion: Una visual novel es un género de videojuego de aventura conversacional que presenta mayormente imágenes estáticas, usualmente con características artísticas de anime. Estos están particularmente centrados en una historia, o contienen en sus escritos una narración similar a la de una novela. Las novelas visuales se diferencian de otros tipos de juegos por su jugabilidad extremadamente mínima. Generalmente la interacción del jugador en su mayoría se limita a dar clic para mantener el texto, gráficos o sonido en movimiento (algunos juegos recientes ofrecen la posibilidad de dar reproducir o adelantar haciendo esto incluso innecesario). En conclusión una visual novel es como un libro interactivo con imágenes y generalmente con una música excelente. ¿Visual novel o sound novel? Ryukishi07 dijo oficialmente que no considera a umineko una visual novel sino una SOUND NOVEL ya que lo mas importante en esta historia es la interacción entre la música y el texto que relata esta historia, además a simple vista uno podrá ver que los diseños de personajes de umineko son mas que simplistas y no son el fuerte de la historia. Introduccion oficial a umineko: Introduccion escrita por Ryukishi07 que describe PERFECTAMENTE lo que es umineko, mejor manera de saber de que se trata esta historia no existe. Welcome to the world of "Umineko no Naku Koro ni" (When Seagulls Cry) Welcome to the Rokkenjima of October 4, 1986. You have been given a chance to catch a glimpse of the family conference held annually by the Ushiromiya family. The remaining life in the old family head who has built up a vast fortune is very slim. To his children, the greatest point of contention at this family conference is the distribution of his inheritance. Everyone desires all that money, no one relents, and no one believes. Who will gain the old head's vast inheritance? Where is the 10 tons of gold that the old head is said to have hidden? Can the unnerving riddle of the epitaph which is said to point to the location of that gold be solved? In the midst of this, a suspicious letter is sent from one claiming to be a witch. The presence of a 19th person on this island, which should only have 18, begins to hang in the air. Brutal murders repeat, and unsolvable riddles are left at the scene. How many will die? How many will live? Or will everyone die? Is the culprit one of the 18, or not? Is the culprit a "human", or a "witch"? The genre of this work is probably a serial murder mystery. However, that does not guarantee that reasoning and guesswork are possible. Those who enjoy stupid puzzles that are made to be solved can leave now. Umineko no Naku Koro ni is the worst kind of tale, created without any intention of letting all of you solve it. However, to all of the worst kinds of people, who hear that and just want to challenge it more, welcome. I am myself sending out this tale to make these worst kinds of people surrender. No matter what kinds of strange events occur, all of you will try to explain it with humans and tricks, and deny all mysteries, as the worst kind of human supremacists. Please, try to explain each one of the many baffling cases with humans and tricks as best you can. I want to see how far I can penetrate everyone's human supremacy. The culprit is a witch. All alibis and tricks are magic. This is not a mystery, but fantasy! I want to see you surrender and say that while crying bitter tears. I do not expect a line of reasoning leading to the truth to appear. I want to find out just how many people can deny the witch until the very end and maintain a 'human culprit theory'. This is a sound novel without choices, where you search for the truth yourself. Is guesswork possible, or impossible? Will you surrender to the witch, or stand up and face her? This is eternal torture that will not end until you can believe in witches. How you enjoy it is up to you. The Epitaph on the portrait  My beloved hometown, the sweetfish river running through it. You who seek the Golden Land, follow its path downstream and seek the key. If you follow the river downstream, you will find a village. In the village, look for the shore the two will tell you of. There sleeps the key to the Golden Land. He who lays hand upon the key shall travel under the rules below. At the first twilight, you shall lift up as sacrifice the six chosen by the key. At the second twilight, those who remain shall tear apart the two who are close. At the third twilight, those who remain shall praise my honorable name on high. At the fourth twilight, gouge the head and kill. At the fifth twilight, gouge the chest and kill. At the sixth twilight, gouge the stomach and kill. At the seventh twilight, gouge the knee and kill. At the eighth twilight, gouge the leg and kill. At the ninth twilight, the witch shall be revived and none shall be left alive. At the tenth twilight, the journey shall end and you should reach the village of gold. The witch will praise the wise, and should bestow four treasures. One shall be, all the gold from the Golden Land. One shall be, the resurrection of the souls of all the dead. One shall be, even the resurrection of the lost love. One shall be, to put the witch to sleep for all time. Sleep peacefully, my most beloved witch, Beatrice.

| The members of the Ushiromiya family   右代宮 金蔵 / Ushiromiya Kinzo Eldery head of the Ushiromiya family. Even as his precious little time left is sentenced, he is in high spirits. He amassed a vast fortune, but by not revealing anything about his succession, he torments his sons and daughters. He is influenced by the West, and is a rabid occult maniac. His study is full of strange grimoires.  右代宮 蔵臼 / Ushiromiya Krauss Kinzo's first child. As the eldest son of the four siblings, he is in position to lead the family meeting. However, to the other siblings, it seems that he is trying to monopolize the fortune, which intensifies the clash with the siblings. He is a real estate investor, and is heavily investing in the development of a resort. However, the results are being severely criticized.  右代宮 夏妃 / Ushiromiya Natsuhi Krauss' wife. She manages the Ushiromiya family instead of her husband who doesn't pay any attention to his household. She took charge of the preparations, the arrangements, and everything for this family meeting by hersekf. She has a strong sense of responsibility, and is very proud. However, she is not understood by her husband and his siblings, so it can't be said that her situation is enviable.  右代宮 朱志香 / Ushiromiya Jessica Krauss and Natsuhi's daughter. If things go properly, one can consider that before long she will become the heir of the Ushiromiya family (or strictly speaking, her husband will). However, it seems that she herself takes no interest in that. Her bronchi are weak from birth and she can have sudden asthma fits.  右代宮 絵羽 / Ushiromiya Eva Kinzo's second child. Hostile towards her brother Krauss, and takes a stance to confront him in every way possible, from issues of the fortune to the succession of the head of the family. Originall, she would have lost her place in the register of the Ushiromiya family when she got married, but since she made her husband, who took her family name, be recognized, the whole story forcibly came to a halt.  右代宮 秀吉 / Ushiromiya Hideyoshi Eva's husband. He was adopted into the Ushiromiya family as Eva's husband. Since he does not have the spiteful genes of the Ushiromiya family, that cheerful, smiling face is very precious in the family meetings. He started his business from scratch, and now works as president of a medium-sized restaurant chain. Its performance is extremely promising because of its growth.  右代宮 譲治 / Ushiromiya George Eva and Hideyoshi's son. He is an affable young man, and is liked by everyone in the family. He is an apprentice at his father's company, and it looks like he finally has dreams of independence. As the eldest of the four cousins, he acts as their peacemaker.  右代宮 留弗夫 / Ushiromiya Rudolf Kinzo's third child. Together with his sister Eva, at the family meeting he strengthens the goal of not allowing the eldest brother Krauss monopolize their father's fortune. He lost his previous wife, Asumu, six years ago and afterwards immeduately entered his second wife Kyrie in the family register.  右代宮 霧江 / Ushiromiya Kyrie Rudolf's wife. Second wife. She has had a long association with him as his business partner, and after the death of his previous wife, she publicly made her place of legal wife her own. She has worked as his right arm in handling several shady pieces of business, which led them to success. She is quick thinking, and trusts Rudolf implicitly.  右代宮 戦人 / Ushiromiya Battler The son of Rudolf and his previous wife, Asumu. Six years ago, he rebelled against his father who entered his second wife into his family register at the same time that Battler was bereaved of his mother. He went to live with his maternal grandparents. However, his granparents died one after the other, and after six years, he has returned to the Ushiromiya family. At this family meeting, he renews his friendship with his cousins after six years.

|  右代宮 楼座 / Ushiromiya Rosa Kinzo's fourth child. She is by far the youngest child of the four siblings. Because of that, it seems that she has much less influence in the family meetings. She manages a design company, but it's nothing more than a pastime and it seems that the management conditions are less than sweet-smelling.  右代宮 真里亞 / Ushiromiya Maria Rosa's daughter. The father is unknown. She often gets in trouble for speaking like a young child. She has no concern whatsoever for studies or friends; however, she shows a strong interest for the occult, black magic and such, and memorizes many inconsistent bits and pieces of information with her natural gift of memorization. Servants serving in the Mansion:  Attenting Physician 南條 輝正 / Nanjo Terumasa Kinzo's attending physician and long time friend. He was a medical practitioner on Niijima, but he turned the hospital over to his son to spend his old years in tranquility. He is one of the few people Kinzo, who has grown fanatical in his suspicions, opens his heart to. He has a very big-hearted disposition, and has come to the island for a long time, never getting upset by Kinzo's hot temper.  Servant 呂ノ上 源次 / Ronoue Genji He is the head butler who manages the servants who work under the Ushiromiya family. He is the one who has served Kinzo the longest, and has obtained his greatest trust. Since he is Kinzo's immediate servant, he is thought of as Kinzo's spy by Krauss and his wife.  Servant 紗音 / Shannon A young, but experienced servant. Usually, she calmly handles her work flawlessly, but when she is in a hurry her errors increase. Furthermore, "Shannon" is a pseudonym strictly used during her work, and is not her real name.  Servant 嘉音 / Kanon A young servant. He handles his work in silence, but he is sullen and his appraisal is not high. There are several other servants who have "on" (音) in their pseudonym. That day, he and Shannon just happened to be on duty.  Servant 郷田 俊朗 / Gohda Toshiro The servant employed as a chef. He has not served here long, but the reception talents he honed in his previous work are polished, and his appraisal is high. Since he is the servant Krauss and his wife hired, it seems he is more trusted than the senior servants who are thought of as Kinzo's spies.  Servant 熊沢 チヨ / Kumasawa Chiyo She has resigned in the middle of her job many times, but speaking generally, she is an elderly woman who works part-time and has much experience. She knows how to get things done, and her skills as a servant are by no means small, but since she loves gossip and is quite talkative, she doesn't receive much appraisal.

| Umineko no Naku Koro ni  Umineko no naku Koro ni (When Seagulls cry), a.k.a. When they Cry 3, es una especie de continuacion de Higurashi, aunque en un lugar nuevo (Rokkenjima), y con un 'Lone Island Syndrome'-like setting, y con un cast totalmente nuevo. Para mas info, wikipedia. Hay una adaptacion planeada, Unaired por ahora. Downloads Juegos Episode 3: Banquet of the Golden Witch (pueden jugar al EP 1 y al 2 tambien con este) Episode 4: Alliance of the Golden Witch (idem anterior+EP3) - Ningun parche aplicable a la fecha Patchs Episode 1+2 Episode 3 (primeros 11 chapters) No se si el parche del EP3 incluye tambien el EP 1 y el 2. Supongo que si, estaria bueno que alguien confirmara. Links Wiki del proyecto en Baka-Tsuki ...Anteriormente se podian ver los scripts semi-traducidos (y los no tambien) en la pagina (como en cualquier projecto de traduccion de vns en formato wiki), pero ahora no se puede. La principal razon es que quieren buscar el apoyo de Ryukishi07. Igual, parecen tener un equipo dedicado, asi que no creo que haga falta el editado estilo anonimo.
